The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) is the national association of immigration lawyers established to promote justice, advocate for fair and reasonable immigration law and policy, advance the quality of immigration and nationality law and practice, and enhance the professional development of its members.
The Publication Sales Specialist will be responsible for marketing and direct sales of AILA publications to government agencies, congressional offices, academic law libraries, and book stores/resellers. Responsibilities will include updating, building, and maintaining a contact list, reaching out to prospective purchasers via email and telephone, and submitting regular sales reports. This is a commission-based position.
Essential Job Functions
Conduct Sales Calls and Direct Outreach
Contact prospective buyers of AILA publications.
¨ Meet sales goal of 500 copies of books sold by mid-year
¨ Cold call government agencies, offices, and other prospects
¨ Establish relationships with points of contact
¨ Keep detailed records of communication, outreach, and sales
¨ Use good judgment to decide best course of action for follow-up, including email and other forms of communication
¨ Regularly report progress to supervisor
Build/Update/Maintain Contact List:
Make sure contact list of government agencies, congressional offices, law libraries, and book resellers is up to date.
¨ Conduct Internet search to build and update current list.
¨ Cold call agencies and offices for whom no current point of contact is established
¨ Produce activity report to track progress
Other administrative tasks as assigned.
Skills and Abilities

Education and Training
High School Diploma a minimum
Minimum Job Requirements
